Genesis Chapter 13: Abram and Lot Separate
In Genesis chapter 13, Abram returns from Egypt with his wife and Lot. Both men have become wealthy, leading to strife between their herdsmen due to the land's inability to support them both. To resolve the conflict, Abram suggests they separate, allowing Lot to choose the land he prefers. Lot chooses the well-watered plain of Jordan, while Abram remains in Canaan. After Lot departs, God reaffirms His promise to Abram, assuring him that his descendants will inherit the land. Abram then settles in Hebron and builds an altar to the Lord.
