Genesis Chapter 8: The Flood Subsides
In Genesis chapter 8, we witness God's remembrance of Noah and the living creatures in the ark. The waters of the flood begin to recede as God sends a wind over the earth. Noah sends out a raven and a dove to check for dry land. After several attempts, the dove returns with an olive leaf, signaling that the waters have abated. Eventually, God commands Noah to leave the ark with his family and the animals. Noah builds an altar to the Lord and offers sacrifices, prompting God to promise never to curse the ground again for man's sake.
